Professional career
From 2003 to 2009 Matthias Dorner took geography (with a focus on economic geography), economics and sociology at the universities of Augsburg and Würzburg as well as studying abroad at the University of Helsinki (Finland) for eight months. During the course of his studies towards a degree in geography (Diplom-Geograph) at the Julius Maximilian University in Würzburg he had already been involved in regional labour market research at IAB in Nuremberg in various different assignments between 2008 and 2009. Mr Dorner joined the staff of the Research Data Centre of IAB in 2010.
