You can get the older, factually anonymous versions of the IAB Employment Samples (IABS) by the Central Archive for Empirical Social Research at the University of Cologne (ZA) (only in German). Please enter the following code numbers (ZA-Nr.) to retrieve the available files:

• IABS Basic File 1975-1995: ZA-Nr. 3136
• IABS Regional File 1975-1997: ZA-Nr. 3348

User support, for all data sets, is provided by the FDZ.

Particularities

The IAB Employment Sample is available in two different versions: a weakly anonymous data set and a factually anonymous data set. The former may only be used during research visits (and, subsequently, by remote data access). The latter is transferred to researchers for work in their offices. In exceptional cases, the factually anonymous data set might be analysed during research visits or using remote data access.
