Methodological characteristics 

Category Description
Method of data collection Establishments: observations of the IAB Establishment Panel that participated in the survey without gap from 1999 to 2001, of these 2100 establishments in East and 2100 in West Germany.
Individuals: all observations on employment and benefit receipt from 1990 to 2006 of all individuals who were em-ployed in one of the selected establishments between 1 January 1996 and 31 December 2002 for at least one day.

'This study uses the longitudinal model of the Linked-Employer-Employee Data (LIAB) (Version X, Years YYYY-YYYY) from the IAB.
