Summary
Data Source:
GMOP is an establishment data set on management practices and firm success. It evolved within the framework of the cooperation project ‘Management Practices, Organizational Behavior and Firm Performance in Germany’, which was jointly carried out by the Institute for Employment Research (IAB), the Kiel Institute for the World Economy (IfW) and the Institute for Applied Social Sciences (infas). The project was funded by the Leibniz Association.
The survey was carried out once in 2014/2015. The data set relates to the years 2008 and 2013 and contains information on 1,927 establishments.
Contents:
GMOP is based on the ‘Management and Organizational Practices Survey’ (MOPS) which was conducted in 2010 by the US Census Bureau. Large parts of the questionnaire were adopted and translated into German in the spirit of their original meaning. The questions on management practices cover issues related to monitoring, targets and incentives. Additionally, items on work-family balance and health promoting measures were taken in. The performance measures include questions on sales, exports, innovations etc.
