The Research Data Centre (FDZ) of the German Federal Employment Agency (BA) at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) provides researchers access to micro data for non-commercial empirical research in the fields of social security and employment.
The FDZ …
- offers advisory service on data selection and data access as well as on handling, analysis potential, scope and validity of data,
- provides access to data via on-site use, remote data access and scientific use files,
- documents data and methodological aspects of data in its own publication series (FDZ Daten-/Methodenreport series),
- updates its scientific use files and other research datasets constantly,
- organizes workshops and user conferences.
Our team advises on data suitability and the technical environment available at the FDZ. The development of programs is mainly up to the researchers themselves.
The FDZ carries out research itself and is involved in international research projects. The research focuses on the linkage of process and survey data, analyses on employment topics with FDZ data and on enhancing international data Access.
