IAB-SOEP Migration Sample (IAB-SOEP MIG)

The IAB-SOEP Migration Sample is a household survey conducted jointly by the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) in Nuremberg and the German Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP) at DIW Berlin. The IAB-SOEP Migration Sample provides a database which permits to gain new insights by addressing various aspects of immigration regarding activation and attraction of skilled immigrants and to provide clear guidance regarding immigration, integration and labour market policies in Germany. The first seven survey waves were carried out between 2013 and 2019, with between about 3,000 and almost 5,000 persons taking part in each of them. The survey has partly been financed by the Ministry of labour and social affairs and the questionnaires are similar to the survey “Living in Germany” from the GSOEP at DIW Berlin. Please find more detailed information on the dataset in the outline.

In addition, the data product SOEP-CMI-ADIAB, in which the survey data were linked with administrative data from the IAB, is available via the FDZ of the BA at the IAB.
