DOI: 10.5164/IAB.SOEP-CMI-ADIAB7520.de.en.v1

Summary

The data product SOEP-CMI-ADIAB is provided cooperatively by the Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP) at the German Institute for Economics Research (DIW Berlin) and the Institute for Employment Research (IAB), Nuremberg. SOEP-CMI-ADIAB consists of the survey data of respondents of the SOEP and administrative data of the IAB, in case the respondents consented to their records being linked. The survey data of SOEP-CMI-ADIAB comprise data of SOEP-Core and the IAB-SOEP Migration Sample, the IAB-BAMF-SOEP Survey of Refugees up until survey wave 37 (SOEPv37.eu including survey year 2020) as well as the SOEP Innovation Sample (up to survey year 2020). The SOEP is a multi-subject survey, covering information of various life aspects, such as demography, income, labour market participation, health, satisfaction, worries as well as psychological constructs like the Big-5 inventory to describe personality traits. The SOEP is a household-based survey, meaning all adults of a household will be asked to participate in the survey. In recent years age-specific instruments for children were introduced to specifically survey the life situation of minors. Besides yearly repeated content, SOEP also covers special subjects which are surveyed in longer intervals such as information about private wealth, which is surveyed every five years.

SOEP-CMI-ADIAB can be used to investigate research questions regarding the rich socio-demographic information of the SOEP as well as precise income information from the administrative data sources.
