Data access for external users
Project duration: 01.07.2011 to
Abstract
The FDZ provides external researchers with a broad range of standard data products for non-commercial labour market and occupational research. The FDZ provides advice on data selection, data access and decides on the approval of the research project on behalf of and, if necessary, in coordination with the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS). Once approval has been granted, the FDZ concludes a data use agreement with the researcher's scientific institution.
The analysis of the standardized data of the FDZ can be carried out via three data access ways: Remote data processing, On-site Use or Scientific Use File. Which data access way is available depends on the degree of anonymization of the respective data set. If the data is analyzed during on-site use or via remote data processing, the FDZ checks the produced results for compliance with data protection standards and releases them after successful verification. The FDZ also provides advice to data users on the standard data products.
