Central findings on current labour market topics
Abstract
"Although the German labour market has developed positively since 2005, labour market policy continues to face huge challenges. In particular it is a question of reducing long-term unemployment further, improving upward mobility, and raising the quality of employment, as well as of steering demographic development and, with that, ensuring that there are enough qualified staff. The report 'Central findings on current labour market topics' summarizes results of the research work at IAB and offers an overview of the topics: structure of employment; ensuring there are sufficient qualified staff; unemployment and benefit receipt; as well as labour market policy measures."
