On the situation and developments in the labour market in Germany

Abstract

"In preparation for the Annual Report 2017/18 of the German Council of Economic Experts, the IAB was asked to provide its expertise on the situation in the German labour market, requirements for qualified staff, the effects of academization on filling training positions, developments in wages and salaries, as well as on the effects of the minimum wage on employment, worker protection and competition. The findings that the IAB presented in Autumn 2017 are summarised in this current Statement." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
