Abstract

There are large regional wage differences in Germany. In addition, the gender pay gap varies greatly from region to region. These wage differences depend not only on individual or socio-demographic characteristics, but also on region-specific factors. To date, the regionally very unevenly distributed pay gap between women and men has only been given very rudimentary consideration in research. This project therefore deals explicitly with the spatial heterogeneity of the gender pay gap and its determinants.
