Abstract

We plan to draw a sample of households with migration background from the administrative data of the BA. The sample of migrants will then be integrated in the SOEP sample and will be questionned yearly. The survey data will then be linked to the administrative data of the BA to create the full employment history of the participants. The linkage procedure has two advantages: The employment history can be followed over time very more precisely than with survey data and secondly, already with the data of the first wave, longitudinal studies can be done.
