Abstract

Driven by digitalisation, shortages of skilled workers and demographic change, the working environment has changed fundamentally. Work is no longer tied to specific places and times and employment careers are much more heterogeneous today than they were a generation ago. The changes offer opportunities and risks for all actors in the labour market. At a broad social level, the wishes of employees, challenges for companies and requirements for social security are discussed.
